Extra-point assignment
In class we discussed two versions of definition for an ambiguous grammar.
They are:
-
(Bill's version) An grammar is ambiguous if there exists a sentence
s such that one can derive s through two different parse trees.
-
(Dan's version) An grammar is ambiguous if there exists a sentence s such
that one can derive s through two different parse trees by left-most derivation.
You'll receive 1 extra-point (counted as 1% of the total grade) if you
can either prove or disprove that these two definitions are equivalent.
